Sirhowy Valley - Sunday 1st August

This weekend's walk heads into uncharted TT territory near Newport. Christian will lead us along a former railway trail and riverside path running through the woodland of the Sirhowy Valley. The walk hits the lofty heights of the Mynydd y Grug before returning to the start point along a picturesque track between ancient hedges.

Distance: 8 miles

Difficulty: moderate / strenuous (there is quite a long incline for a few miles)

Meeting point: County Hall at 9.30am or if you wish to meet at the start point please contact Christian on 07791089942.

Caroline's leaving do - Friday 30th

Just a reminder to say it's this Friday when we say our farewells to Caroline who is moving to the dark side (well Carmarthenshire actually but I thought I would add some drama to the proceedings). Anyway we are meeting at The Westbourne in Brynmill from 7.30pm if you to join the soiree.

That's it for this week.

Christian

The route includes a 6 mile elevated ridge walk with expansive views over the eastern Beacons. Note the earlier start time!

Beach BBQ at Oxwich - Sun 18th July

It's the time of year for relaxing on the beach with some BBQ fayre. On Sunday 18th July, the TT's will be pitching up on Oxwich Bay with BBQs (and hopefully some stuff to cook on 'em) at 1pm. I thought the easiest way of doing it would be for people to bring their own BBQs and food - organising themselves in smaller groups as desired.

Call me, Doug, on 07766652837 for more details.

Caroline's Leaving/Moving Do! - Friday 30th July

Caroline is upping sticks in Swansea and moving to the wilds of Carmarthenshire. Although we'll be sorry to see her go, the TTs wish her all the very best in her new location.
To mark the occasion and give Caroline the send-off she deserves, Lindsey is organising a leaving do on Friday 30th July. We'll be meeting at the Westbourne pub on Bryn-y-Mor Road at 1930 on the Friday, and then going for food later (maybe a curry nearby).

Call Linds on 07540 594527 for more details.

That's it for another week, see you soon.

Cheers,

Doug

Tawetrekkers newsletter 04/07/10

Hi all

It's a short one this week as next weekend is Dave's Pembrokeshire beano so there is no other planned walks. For those of you going on Dave's weekend if you still require a lift or any further details please contact Dave on 07828621311. It should be a good one!

However, if you fancy a pint or two before then, this Thursday brings us the TT's regular pub night in The Brunswick from 8pm.

Martin's lexical request

Martin and Doug are keen to set-up a TT Scrabble challenge so if you want to fire-up those neurons please contact Martin on 07743593068 and he will arrange for so some hardcore letter action.

In the words of Bug's Bunny that's all folks.
