Tawe Trekkers Summer Trip 2013
Swanage YHA Friday - 19th
July to 21st July
Walk details:
Saturday 20th July
Lulworth Cove – 10 miles / 5
hours / Moderate to challenging
The Dorset and East Devon
coast is England’s first natural world heritage site. This walk is a coastal
walk covering one of the most spectacular features on the coastal path, namely
Durdledoor, a dramatic natural archway pierced by the sea. This lies to
the west of Lulworth cove along a superb stretch of chalk cliffed coastline.
Remember to bring your cameras, a coastal walk not to be missed!
Corfe-Swanage – 6 miles / 4-5
hours / Moderate
We will be catching the steam
train from Swanage to Corfe. This walk follows a fine stretch of the
Purbeck ridge which will provide us the opportunity of firstly visiting Corfe
Castle to the coast, with a detour to view the famous old Harry rocks and
continuing along the coast path to finish at Swanage, a walk taking in a
railway, castle and coastline.
