Tawe Trekkers Newsletter 10th July 2013

Thanks to Dave for leading a great walk last Sunday. Hopefully my companions on the day were a bit more liberal with the sun tan lotion than myself...

Sunday 14th July 2013 – Blaenavon Heritage Trail

I know it might be hard to believe, but the Tawe Trekkers are not the only walking group in existence..  this Sunday, East meets West as Chrissy leads a joint walk with our Cardiff based friends, the Tiger Bay Ramblers.

Starting at Keeper’s Pond car park (between Blaenavon and Llanfoist on the B4246), the walk takes us along a disused tramline, taking in the sights of the post-industrial landscape of Blaenavon.

The walk is fairly easy, following a path but there are a few steep sections to negotiate. As an added incentive there is the possibilty of a well-earned Ice-cream at the end of the walk!

NB: Walk leader cannot be held responsible for non-appearance of  the Ice-cream van...

Distance: 7 miles - Moderate

Meeting at County Hall in Swansea at 9:30 or the start point at Keeper’s Pond at 11:00

If you plan on going straight to the start point, or need any more information please contact Chrissy on 07770 343 398

 Cheers,
Andrew B
