Tawe Trekkers Newsletter 21st February 2013

Sunday 24th February - Briton Ferry, Pontrhydyfen, Baglan Circular
Andy kindly leads on this local walk. We walk up Brunels incline and before we get to the top, turn right and go through the forestry and along 'Ladies walk' above Baglan (cracking views over Swansea bay)  and continue along until we reach a point above Cwmavon where we descend along an old tramway into Pontrhydafen. Picking up the 'Richard Burton Way', we cross the old railway viaduct and follow the track bed until we exit along a farm road picking up the old trackbed again that leads to the top of Brunels incline. We then descend along the incline, passing the site of old colliery workings all the way to the bottom where refreshment awaits at the Crown pub.
Distance: 7 miles
Difficulty: Easy-Moderate
Start time: 9am at County Hall or if you want to meet at the start point please give Andy Martin  a call on
07548 114 659.

That's it for this week!

Andrew (Bevan!!)
