TT New Years Eve Trip

Tawe Trekkers New Years Eve Trip - Saturday 29th December 2012 - Tuesday 1st January 2013

Destination :- Urdd Centre, Llangranog, Llandysul, Ceredigion, SA44 6AE

Hi All! Hope everyone had a good xmas! Please see below details for the forthcoming trip!

Please can everyone aim to arrive at the Urdd centre in Llangranog by around 16.30 hrs on Saturday 29th December. On arriving I will be in the main office and can then show everybody to their accommodation. Please note the postcode is included above for all those with Sat nav's!

Please note sleeping bags are not required. All bedding is provided.

Lunch will be served on Saturday evening at 18.00 hrs.  There is the option of attending a Twmpath aka a Ceildh mid-winterish dance at Abercych Village Hall about 1/2 hours drive from the Urdd centre. On arrival please could those wishing to attend the Ceilidh let me know who wish to attend. For those who do not there is a choice of two pubs namely he Ship Inn and the Pentre Arms to attend that evening.

For the duration of the weekend Breakfast, packed lunch and evening meals are provided. Please could individuals bring their own alcohol. There is no bar at the Urdd centre in Llangrannog. In addition dogs are allowed on the trip!

Please note to bring waterproofs in case of rain!

Walk one - Sunday 30th December
Circular walk of Newquay
Distance - 7.5 miles (12km)
Grade - Moderate.

Evening - Organised quiz at Llangranog centre.

Walk Two - Monday 31st December 
Linear walk from Llangranog to Newquay
Distance - 9.4 miles (15km)
Grade - Moderate

Evening - Acoustic music evening at Llangranog centre then down to the local village pub.

Walk Three - Sunday 1st January 
Linear walk from Llangranog to Aberporth
Distance - 5 miles (8 km)
Grade - Moderate

Tawe Trekker Newsletter 12 December 2012


Hi all,

This weekend's walk on Sun 16th December sees the SOGs & Tawe Trekkers joining up for the Xmas Walk in Bethlehem.
 
So join me & Emyr for a 7 mile, moderate walk as we lead the merry group onto the iron age hill fort of Carn Goch, through the wooded area of Pentre Bach & stroll along the green lane running alongside the hill of Trychrug. Hope to have outstanding views of the Towy as well as Carn Goch from Bwlch Y Gors.
 
Plus there'll be an opportunity to join in with the carol singing, drink one or two (or more) mulled wines & eat a few hearty mince pies. So please bring along some Xmas treats!
 
Meet @ 9.30am @ Old Swansea Baths Car Park (adjacent to the Slip). 
Alternatively meet at 10.30am @ Carn Goch Monument Car Park nr Bethlehem (from Llandeilo, pass Bethlehem school & post office, then immediately turn next right & follow brown signs to Carn Goch monument). GR SN 682 242 (Brecon Beacons Explorer Map OL12)

Winter Folk Dance

Corelw Winter Dance - St. James Church Hall, Uplands, Swansea  6.30 till late, 15th December
