Tawe Trekkers Newsletter 6 February 2011

Hi all

After a very gusty walk yesterday (no I wasn't there but Doug told me he nearly took off!) let's hope next weekend brings calmer weather for Dave's walk.

Sunday 13th - Fan Hir and Carreg Gleisiad

From the historic Craig-y-Nos Castle, Dave takes us up into the hills along the Drovers' Trail and along Fan Hir for some desolate and beautiful scenery in the Western Beacons.

Distance: 10 miles

Difficulty: Strenous

Meeting point: County Hall at 9.30am or if you wish to meet at the starting point please contact Dave on 07828 621311.

Thursday 10th - Regular pub night

It's our regular pub night meeting at the The Brunswick from 8pm onwards so why not pop along for a beverage or two.

Tuesday 15th February - Martin's inaugural movie night

As newly appointed social secretary Martin has been conjuring his magic to devise a cunning plan to get us to well...er socialise. Tuesday 15th February (next week) brings us the first of Martin's cinema nights, planned to be a regular event every other Tuesday (so if all goes to plan, next one will be 1st Mar). If you want to join Martin, he will been in the No Sign Bar on Wind Street from 7pm. Please let Martin know if you want to come along (07743593068) and to decide on what film you want to see!

Whilst on a cinematic theme Martin is also organising TT expedition to the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour on 3 March. The film festival starts at 7pm in Porthcawl Grand Pavillion. See www.banff-uk.com for details. If you are interested in going along please contact Martin on 07743593068.

That's all for this week.
Best wishes.
Christian
