Castle Coch and Craig yr Allt - Sunday 21st February

On Sunday Doug takes us to an area just north of Cardiff to visit Castle Coch. The Castle, the historic centrepiece of the walk, is not actually a castle in the true sense of the word but a folly built by the extremely wealthy Earl of Bute. Castle Coch's architectural style deliberately mimicks that of a Bavarian mansion, and is a unique sight amongst the usual environment of the Welsh Valleys! We'll begin the route from Castle Coch and follow a path along a section of the Taff Trail through deciduous woodland. We circle back around along an attractive hillside route to experience the sights of the Taff Valley. Here's the lowdown;

Difficulty: Easy
Distance: 5.5 Miles
Meeting Points: County Hall at 0930 or 1030 at the walk start point at Castle Coch. Please call Doug if you plan to meet at the walk start point.
Contact: Doug on 07766652837

And don't forget this Thursday is pub night at the Brunswick. Meet after 8pm!

That's it for this week!

Trudi
