Brecon Beacons: The Neuadd Reservoir Walk - Saturday 19th Dec

On Saturday we'll follow a route around the Neuadd valley and reservoir. This walk will include high ridges, the highest mountains in southern Britain (Pen y Fan) and other peaks; Corn du and Cribyn.

Please note that I've cut the route slightly (from the original Programme info), as we are having to work against the very short days at this time of year. The route will therefore be around 8 miles, not 10.

The walk is rated at moderate-to-strenuous as there are a couple of steep climbs and some difficult terrain (verging on scrambles). The elevated and exposed positions on this route mean that people should come prepared with plenty of layers, hat/gloves, good boots, and decent waterproofs. Here's the lowdown:

Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous

Distance: 8 Miles

Ascent: 850 Metres

Meeting Points: County Hall at 0930, or the start point at the pumphouse near Neauadd reservoir at 1030.

Please call me, Doug, if you plan to meet at the start point. I will then be able to confirm whether the walk is still going ahead (i.e. in case of bad weather) and advise on directions.

Programme Meeting - Thursday 17th Dec at the Vivs

This Thursday we'll be meeting at the Vivs pub in Sketty (at 1930) to put the next programme together. As always we need ideas for walks and events, and people willing to organise and lead them.
