On Sunday burn off the latent energy of all that pasta and join Paul the bomber Harris as he leads us on a moderate walk around Mynydd Twyn Glas Abercarn . After a steady climb we reach open moorland with spectacular views over Ebbw Vale.

Thanks to all the walk leaders over the last couple of weeks. Still A bit worn out after our Austrian adventure so just a short one this week,jokes and trip revue next week!

Graham leads us on Sunday to a little-known part of the Brecon Beacons National Park south of Sennybridge. Highlights include some expansive views, a hill fort and the ancient and atmospheric Heol Cefn y Gaer ridgeway.

This Sunday Gary leads a Gower walk from Penmaen to Oxwich via the Penrice Estate.


Distance - 9 miles

Difficulty - Moderate



Meeting at Swansea Civic Centre at 9.30 or contact Gary  on 07826 858 256 if you plan on going to the start point

Sunday 8th September 2013 – Abergorlech Forest Walk

This Sunday in a change to the advertised programme I will be leading an atmospheric walk in and around Brechfa Forest, starting from the village of Abergorlech.

I may have previously stated the walk was approximately 10 miles.. but after recceing it again it’s more like 15!.

Abergorlech is north of Llandelio on the B4310 between Brechfa and Llansawel. Start point is the Forestry Commission car park which is easy to find on the single road that goes through the village.

Distance - 15 miles

Difficulty - Moderate

Meeting Point - Civic Centre, Swansea at 9.30 or 10.30 at the start point.

Saturday 7th September – Proms in the Park, Caerphilly

This Saturday is The Last Night Of The Proms and a few trekkers have expressed interest in going to the event in the grounds of Caerphilly Castle.
