Wondering how your going to burn off that extra nan bread, here's your answer,

Cyfartha Castle walk.

This walk includes a “castle” built in 1824, a ruined castle (thought the crypt stills exists and can be explored), an Italianate building, old tramways, parts of the Taff Trail and Morlais Heritage Trail, woodland, moorland and meadow along with river and reservoir.

It’s a moderate 12.5 mile walk with 600 metres of total ascent and going up to a maximum of 400 metres (so quite low really).  We’ll linger a little over the archaeological interest towards the start and crack on later.  Trainers with good sole will be okay if it has been dry before the walk otherwise there will be some boggy bits.

Meet at the Civic Centre at 09:30, as usual, or at 10:30 at Cyfartha Castle, Merthyr. Please text me, Robert – 07981 963 681, if you intend going directly to the start point.  Please park in the lower car park just as you go through the gates (near to the toilets!).  The postcode is CF47 8RE but I found that my sat nav took me near but not quite to the right location.  Follow the brown tourist signs when you get close!Cyfartha Castle, Morlais Castle and old tramways.  Extensive views over the Brecon Beacons. Contact Robert H on 07981 963 681.

News Letter W.E. 23.06.2013

Sut Mae Pawb,

Ignore the last post, bit of a cock up,that's the risk we take letting me at the news letter! This is the real thing though.

Thanks to Andy for leading 2 walks last week, and on Friday he goes for the hat trick! He leads us on a Pen -Y- Fan mid summer pilgrimage to catch sunset on the longest day of the year Call Andy M on 07548114659(Druid's costume and naked dancing optional)

Also thanks to those who came to the choirs in the castle,I'm sure all will say it was  a beautiful night in magic surroundings.

Paul Harris makes his début as a walk leader,so come and support his rambling bar mitzvah! Starting in the Historic Village of Llantwit Major(Llnanilltud Fawr) we walk down to the Heritage Coast and on to Nash Point with extensive views over the Bristol Channel. Contact Paul H on 07813 141 101.As an added bonus,I forecast a bint o cwrw in one of Wales' finest pubs the Plough and Harrow.

Picture this, clanging chimes of Big Ben,staring at your imaginary friend in the mirror with your paper hat on,half heartily pulling party poppers. This does not have to be the ghost of new years yet to come, for a meagre £54 you could be surrounded by friendly faces and the sound of laughter and clinking glasses in the idyllic setting of Llanidlios,so if you don't want to miss out you know what to do!
