Crossing the Croeserw - Blaengarw, Croeserw and Maesteg
This weekend's walk sees Graham again taking us off the beaten track. Starting near Garth we climb Foel Gwilym Hywel before descending steeply to Blaengarw at the upper end of the Garw Valley. Climbing out of the head of the valley we circle back to ascend the summit of Mynydd Caerau before returning to Garth along disused railway lines and colliery tracks. There will be pleasant woodland tracks en route with expansive views from the hilltops. We'll also pass a small, improvised war memorial intriguingly position by the path. There are one or two steepish climbs and one quite steep, potentially slippery descent. Boots with good grip are essential.
Difficulty - Moderate
Distance - 9 miles
Meeting point - At County hall at 9.00 a.m (please note earlier start time) or at start point. Contact Graham on 07770435341

Annual AGM Meeting
Remember that the AGM is on the Thurs 11th Oct at the Viv's in Sketty. It would be good to have as many people along as possible for their support.
The good news is that people have come forward to show an interest in each of the main committee positions, so things are looking good for a full quorum next year. That said, it's not too late to show an interest, either in any of the existing positions or in a potentially new role! The things that are important for a small club like this is people helping out with organising walks and events.
The Committee Meeting will be closely followed by the Programme Meeting - where we will compile next Season's walks and events, so walk leaders - please let me know if you want to get your walk on the Programme. Otherwise - bring details along with you and we can work things out on the night.

The things that are important for a small club like this is people helping out with organising walks and events, making members (especially new ones!) feel welcome, communicating what's coming up, and the general running of the club - and I'm sure the club and its members will be very grateful to the new Committee for keeping things going. If you're still interested in being a part of the new Committee speak to Emyr or myself, or any of the (old) Committee!
The Committee Meeting will be closely followed by the Programme Meeting - where we will compile next Season's walks and events, so walk leaders - please let me know if you want to get your walk on the Programme. Otherwise - bring details along with you and we can work things out on the night. That said, I will be stepping down from the Committee this year altogether - but I really hope the club thrives and does well while I go off to pastures new.
