Garth Mountain - Sun 26th Feb

Jon is unable to lead this walk on Sunday, but it will still go ahead as I've agreed to step in to do the honours - if I can find the route, that is!
I should know my way around, I grew up in the shadow of the Garth. However, I wasn't into walking so much as a youngster, and preferred drinking cheap cider and 'MD 20/20' in the park to exploring the local countryside. But that's another story.

We will climb to the top of this prominent hill/mountain peak on the outskirts of Cardiff, the highest point in the County, and the inspiration for the film 'An Englishman Who Went Up a Hill and Came Down a Mountain'. I doubt we'll bump into Hugh Grant on the walk but we may well see some fantastic scenery which takes in Cardiff City, the Bristol Channel, and South West Coast of England, as well as views of the Taff Vale towards Merthyr in the other direction.

Difficulty: Moderate
Distance: 7 miles TBC
Meeting: County Hall at 0930, or the start point of the walk (one of the surrounding villages, depending on the route) at approx 1045.
Contact: Doug on 07766652837 - please call me if you plan to meet at the start point.

Programme - Version 3

There were some amendments and additions to the Programme after it was sent around. If you're reading this on email, please see attached the latest version which now includes Bob's evening walks, and Graham's choir performance.

That's it for another week.
