Newsletter - Clydach Walk on Sun 6th Jan, and Much More!
Happy New Year everybody!
Hope that you all got some nice new walking gear for Christmas and that 2008 will be a great year for the great outdoors. Again, we have a busy and varied newletter this week so please read on; I have tried to make it as interesting as possible but cannot be held responsible for any accidents caused by the sudden loss of conciousness at the desk.

'Between The Two Clydach's' Walk - Sunday 6th Jan
Christian has a great walk in store for us to kick off the New Year. The route starts in Clydach and then weaves it's way through the Swansea Valley on a varied and interesting journey. On the way we will stop at some excellent vantage points such as Craig yr Allt where we can get elevated panoramic views, and we also follow a stretch of the Upper River Clydach where we will see some nice waterfalls. There's loads more we could mention but you'll have to come along to find out for yourself! Here's the details:
Meeting Points: County Hall Carpark at 0930. OR, the walk start point, which is the carpark opposite Clydach Police Station at 1000 (GR693014).
Distance: 11 miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Leader: Christian - 07791089942
Please note that the walk can be muddy in parts so make sure you bring decent boots.

Social Event - African Dancing - Tue 8th Dec. This runs from 7 - 9pm at Cafe Mambo. Discover you inner rhythm and enjoy an evening with a difference!

Election of Officers - Upcoming AGM
Would you like to be on the committee of the Tawe Trekkers in 2008? Want to do something a bit different, beef up your CV, help steer the future direction of the club and get committee experience?
Although we have not yet set a date for the next Annual Meeting it is likely to be sometime in February, and this is an initial notification for all those who may be interested. Have a think about it and if it tickles you fancy, or you need more persuading, give me (Doug) a ring on 07766652837 or send us an email. More details will follow in subsequent newsletters but I'm happy to talk through any queries in the meantime. Oh, and we don't dress like this, and usually have pints and crisps on the table rather than a laptop.

And that's a wrap for this week. Next pub evening will now be the programme meeting at the Viv's. See you out and about, and here's wishing you a prosperous 2008!
